Default roof seals

Before anyone says, I've used the search facility, found a lot in leaking roofs, mine doesn't leak. Found much on replacing roofs, I'm not replacing.

The right side front roof seal has come away. Probably caught while some work was being done, or maybe when they jet washed it... Grr...

It's still screwed in at the front, but at the slightest touch will sag and come away in the middle and towards the centre joint.

What should I use to re-sick it? Glue? Silicone? Double sided tape? There is some white sticky residue left behind.

Thanks all

Any Ideas? I got wet this weekend, and upon investigation it looks like the glue has been holding the forward seal over the door, slightly stretched. If I stretch it and close the window, no leak.

Only needs 3mm or so stretching.

Also there's some foam at the rear of the window, next to the seal, on the outside, this got trapped in the door and allowed seapage. Any suggestions for this being glued back in place.

Thanks

Have you looked at the OEM parts diagrams to see if you can replace the piece with a new one? My guess is that the new part would come with the adhesive (likely 3M adhesive taps).

Not yet. Finding parts diagrams seems to be an issue.

Will keep looking.

Thanks.

Majestic Honda has parts diagrams in their parts section. Take a look at the Soft Top Frame section.

The window seals are quite easy to reinstall and don't require any glue. The back slides over the metal frame and then you push on the front to squeeze the seal into the track.

That's not the issue. It fits and sits fine. It just appears that the front seal is about 1-2mm short for full overlap. It does overlap and seal, but in heavy rain there's a dripping which never used to be there, before the jetwash incident.

Comparing to passenger side, this front seal doesn't quite squeeze up on the inside, and if I slightly stretch it, then close the window to hold in place it's perfect, and nothing gets in.

Behind the seal, on the runner on both sides, there's a white sticky paste stuff, which I can only assume as been broken and dried on the driver side.

Post some pic's and i'll be able to better assist. The white sticky paste stuff is likely shin etsu grease.
