Default S2000 Hardtop Question

There is a oem s2000 hardtop for sale about an hour away. I was wondering if it is possible to lay the hardtop down on the s2000 with the soft top down without installing it to bring it back, would that be possible?

Yea, i did that. But i would defiantly take off the latches from your soft top and put it on your hardtop just to it bring back. Mine almost flew off.

if it comes with oem hardware, i would suggest taking off your interior panels to get to the bolts where the catchers are mounted in the rear and bring some tools with you, and install it on the spot. takes about 30mins or so. that is what i did when i picked up my oem hardtop. there should be a DIY available somewhere for you to look at what you need to take off.

If it were me, I would either A) install the rear catchers before going to pick up the top (assuming the top doesn't come with the rear catchers), or B) prepair the car for the rear catchers before going to get the top, and do a quicky / basic install at the seller's house.

You realize that air going over the hardtop creates lift ?, so it won't take much for that sucker to fly off. If you ever see raised softops on the highway they get sucked upwards by the air moving over the vehicle. Do what you can to get the front and rear latches in place or borrow a minivan to pick it up like I did with mine.

i bought mine off a fellow member on this site, he happened to be close to my house for a dinner with his girlfriend so we met up and swapped the hardware from his car to mine then I followed him to his house and got the top.
