Default Science of Speed Gauge Pillar Pod

has anyone had any issues with science of speed?

i recently ordered a 52mm 2-gauge A-pillar pod and it's nothing like they advertised on their website and what others are saying.

it simply looks like someone used a cheap FRP molding, with horrible quality and fitments. the holding screw doesn't even screw into anything!

if there are any information to if i am mounting it incorrectly, please enlighten me.

You have to create a hole in your stock pillar behind it for the screw to hold.

I am a huge fan of SOS, but I too ordered the gauge pillar pod and was very unimpressed. Compared to the quality of everything else they sell, the pillar doesn't belong in their stable of products. I sent mine back and ate the restocking fee.

i had a feeling it would go over, rather than replacing.

i tried to put the gauge pod over the stock pillar, and that still had horrible fitment.

i agree. i would think SOS would be one of the best since they are specifically interested in NSX and S2000's. i bought a 3-bar map sensor off them as well. let's just hope there's nothing faulty with that one

I have the SOS and the Autometer gauge pod and the Autometer is hands down much better. Fits perfectly over the stock pillar and the text and color is a much closer match to the stock piece.

Sell the SOS and get an Autometer.

Forgot to add that the Autometer is much thicker as well, the SOS unit seems pretty flimsy.

That's what I got after i sent the SOS back. You can remove your stock pillar when using the Autometer pillar. Drill one small hole at the top center through the autometer and into the windshield top plastic trim. (the hold that goes through the windshield top plastic trim will be covered if you ever go back to stock by the stock a pillar)

no experience w/the SOS. had an Autometer one on one of my WRXs (had 2 of the first released to the public). needed to mod the 52mm openings for my 60mm gauges, but fitment of the pillar was excellent.

I also bought the SOS single gauge pod and the fitment is off. I had to drill a second hole. I haven't had time to work on try to make fit better and try to some how cover the original hole. What also sucks is that I think SOS is more expensive than Autometer.

Yep, I've got mine from them as well. Really disappointed with it.

No cut out for the vent and it's warping some from the heat I think.
