Default seat fitment question...

has anyone fit sparco evo2 seats in the s2k lately.... I used the search function and found both answers.....but they were dating back to 2004.... has anyone installed them lately....if so can you please post some pics.... im getting a smoking deal on the seats and need to know what must be done in order to install them.. anybody....please...

most of the old post wrote that they wouldnt fit because the are too wide... the only area they are wider is in the rib area... on all other places they are almost identical to the regular evos.... please help.

I actually have just the regular sparco evo...but i can tell you that if they are only wider in the rib area then they should fit but if they are wider ANYWHERE else they will surely NOT FIT...not even close...I would take pics for you but i'm laying in bed sorry

I mean I don't feel like it but i guess i can when i get home lol...but before I do that I will tell you from the beginning that you will have to shave the shoulder bolsters about an inch...mine hit the door and the glove box seriously...so i took off the cover and cut the corner right off and put the cover back on...voila...I will also tell you that the bottom of the seat is wide and will contact the center console in various places...if i were to do it again I would get a different seat but I got mine for a super deal...the seat is very comfortable to me though

I got a killer deal on mine too which is why I tried to make it work. There is NO reasonable way the EVO 2 will fit unless your interior is stripped. It's about an inch wider than the EVO where the shoulder and side bolsters are, so will require even more cutting of it. With the rails, the seat sits a bit higher than on the floor, so the side bolsters do not clear the center console.
Cutting:
After fitting the seats on the rail and in the car, about 1.5 inches of the shoulder bolster need to be cut, and an inch from the side bolster nearest the center console. Even with cutting the side bolster, you may still need to cut the outside side bolster maybe .5 inches to clear the door. Also, if you want access to the center compartment, you will need to also cut ~.5 - 1 inch.

In the end, I determined that there was too much cutting with no guarantee it will fit or even look decent with all the cutting and sold it. I bought a set of Sparco Revs for maybe $200 more.
The EVO 2 is so VERY comfortable compared to the Rev seat even though I'm only 5'7", 155.

actually, i just installed them in my car... on the headrest itself is says "sparco evoL" but on the side sticker is says its a "sparco evo2 vtr".... i dont know what the difference is, but they fit!!!!! i live about 30 minutes away from science of speed so i decided rather than waiting for some seat brackets that would take a couple days to get, i would just get some brackets from them, which might i add are far too expensive.... BUT, with a little massaging i got them to fit perfectly... SO, anyone who is looking to install sparco evo2s in their s2000 and are unsure, THEY FIT.... again, with a little massaging... it took me about 2 hours to figure out the correct fitment on the drivers seat and about 10 minutes on the passenger once i had already figured out what to do.... with the taitec rails and the size of the sparco evo L seat they end up not sitting any lower than oe.... they are the exact same height... which doesnt bother me a bit. I mentioned that the rails that science of speed are selling are very overpriced, but thats not their fault... SOS doesnt make the msrp... SOS was actually very helpful... and when i dropped by the hooked me up with some work stickers for my meister s1s because i had them powdercoated and no longer had the "work" logo on the wheel...... and they also gave me a tour of the shop and their cars....amazing shop... you could eat off the floors.... and from the looks of it, they know what they are doing.... would definitely recommend

what rails were you installing the seats with? the sticker on the side of my seat says "sparco evo2 vtr"..... I did confirm with upr.com that they were definitely the evo2.... the taitecs fit perfect... if i want to go any lower i would have to purchase the wedge engineering brackets and install the seats without sliders... which i might still do.

if you tried installing the seats WITH sliders and the bracket, try installing them WITHOUT the sliders and see if they clear..
