I am an expert on this subject! I have had both and have seen the destruction of both and the color fade. While this is on a em1 i still feel it relates.
VIS -
Fitment - average
Strength - average
Color - Did not turn yellow
Weave - average
SEIBON
fitment - above average
Strength - above average
Color - Yellowed after a year or so
Weave - above average
Conclusion - The seibon is better quality as far as weave goes. It was stronger and had less fiberglass skeleton. The vis quality wasnt as nice and the fitment wasnt as dead on. Fitment was still ok. Noticed more flaws in the vis weave. But the vis never had a hint of yellow in it while the seibon did. But the weave was a little jacked on some spots of the vis. I feel the seibon offers better quality. I was involved in an accident with both hoods and it seemed like the seibon held up better. I did have the Evo style hoods. The mesh that allows the hood to breathe does become loose after a while on both hoods. Maybe seibon has fixed the mild yellow resin issue. My 1st choice would be the seibon even though it tinted slightly yellow. The reason for this is because the weave was 100%. The vis had a minor smear here or there not noticible unless your close. I have also had erubuni fenders and a carbon creation trunk. The most important thing when choosing carbon parts is if you dont paint them please pick the same brand! You want the weave to match and you want the color to match. In the end the erubuni fenders i had whose weave was far from perfect had no yellow tint but the seibon hood did. The carbon creations trunk was hella light and no fiberglass. both hoods and fender had fiberglass skeleton. I would pick seibon OEM style and paint it!! Now i hate carbon fiber! While it has great properties it sticks out like a sore thumb. You need to paint it! Carbon creations def. seemed like the lightest no frills. Vis seemed like a middle ground and may be a best buy if price is of concern. The seibon was the best quality but developed a mild yellow tint
