Default Several Unanswered Questions

Ok, im parting out my mkv gti, paying it off, then waiting until i find the perfect ap2 and jumping on it. I already have a plan of how it will be modded but have a few questions ive not been able to find an answer to.

It's going to be lowered on buddy club coils. I want to have the top of the tread just covered by the fender and am wanting to run a 9.5 rear and 8.5 front. What would be the perfect offset to keep the edge of the tire right inside the fender? I dont want to ruin either. I cant remember, but does the s2000's suspension auto-camber itself when lowered?

I know the block on the f22 is good for 500 hp. Im planning on a full race kit and running 450 for daily use. Are there low comp pistons or do i HAVE to run a headspacer .

I also havent been able to find info pertaining to a roof rack on a hardtop. I snowboard and go up to ny to board whenever i get a chance (once this year is all i had time for). I know the s isnt meant to haul cargo, but how much weight can be put on the hardtop?

Thats really the only info i couldnt find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The tires will be 255's in the rear and i want to keep the suspension specs at factory settings, minus height, dampening and rebound of course.

For that power level you don't need pistons or a headgasket.

As far as the weight on the hardtop is concerned, I dunno anything about that but I've never seen a roof rack for a hardtop.

If you want to run a 9.5 in the rear with a 255 on stock body and with stock camber, its not gonna happen. You will need camber for that setup and a fender roll.

There are no roof racks available for hardtops. I know several years ago a guy used a set of giant suction cups (one mounted on the top of the window, the other on the trunk) to hold a surf board. This was about the only option I have heard of. Something similar could be used on the hardtop (one on front window, one on rear window) and they could be used without causing damage to the hardtop.
I found the thread but none of the pictures work https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/579...k-for-the-s2k/

Thats exactly where im from
I hate what the vw scene has turned into.

I know there isnt an s2000 specific roof rack setup, but there are so many different foot packs availible, im truely shocked no one has found the correct foot pack setup. I imagine a call to thule and yakima is needed.

Roof racks might be functional to an extent but I think there is a reason no one runs them. That is a trend that needs to stay in the euro community.

I agree and believe me, it should. But the roof rack would only be on for a trip or 2 up to the mountain. And then taken off when i got home.

Im doing a full race turbo build and Jeff from Evans Tuning (Full Races Tuning shop) says to run the stock head gasket. You dont need the cams but it wouldnt hurt if you have the cash. Look into a bigger fuel pump then there walbro 255 if you havent already. Let me know if you need any help

Are you planing on rolling your fenders? If not you will need a offset in the +60s in not higher it you want stockish camber.
