I went with the TWM in flat black. Its pricey but it sits a lot lower.

CR Shift knob, without the adjuster nut for me, it lowers the already low knob another 5 mm and the shift diagram is canted towards driver where it bottoms out on the threads. The height is just right for me with this setup.

I have the FD2-R knob and would've liked to use it without the nut but the off-center shift pattern would've bugged the heck out of me.

For me, I felt that the OEM knob was too small. The FD2-R knob is fatter at its widest point and felt better in my hand. It also sits a tad lower with the lock nut in place and I found that I like that, too. Unfortunately, I was expecting it to be bigger than it is and I wish it was at least the same weight as the OEM one. But most importantly, the red lettering matches my interior... J/K
