Yup, that's the place that doesn't seem to answer emails. Are they still in business? What's the turn around time on orders for knobs?

As far as I know they're still in business. I've ordered from them in the past but not a shift knob. PM Stratocaster he's the owner.

Tap it. I wouldn't go welding anything because that could cause a weak point and you would just break it off when you shift hard.
I wouldn't go welding anything either because it would look and feel terrible.

How hard do you shift when driving? I can't imagine shifting hard enough to break even a piss poor weld.

if you have your heart set on it you can chop off the top of the shifter rod, weld a 1.25 thread pitch on the end
Hahaha not recommended.

TWM performance uses a threaded insert in thier shift knobs. basically, the insert threads into a large hole in the shift knob itself, and has threads on the inside of the insert that match the stock shifter. you can get somebody to drill a hole to match thier size insert, tap it, and then buy the honda adapter. thread that into your knob and you're good to go!

Should be able to just tap it with a 1.5 tap. I started making shift knobs and I have changed the thread from 1.25 to 1.5 and it fit perfectly fine on my shifter.
i dont see how i can tap it. I might have said shit backwards but the knob itself is bigger than the rod. I think my only option is an insert
