Thumbs down short shifter install

hey guys,
i have a problem and need your help.
i have a my07 and i am installing my axlle flow ss i got from ricks. i took off the stock shift lever and when i put in the new axle flow it does not drop in far enough to bolt in the ring that goes over the base of the transmission. it seems like the when you push the lever down to put it in reverse it is stuck in that down possition but the plastic part of the new shifter is still over the base of the tranny. is it possible that i got a ss for an ap1 tranny, or am i missing something??
thanks guys

Give it up. Remove the short shifter and go back to stock. These went away a long time ago for a very good reason. Poor quality crap.

Mine was the same way at first so, it takes a little more pressure to seat it , put your knob back on so you don't hurt your hand and give it a good push. If that doesn't work contact axilflow there making a whole new bach of them.

did you try flipping the shifter the other way? and you need to push it all the way in and bolt the collar over it so it stays down.

I don't agree. I been running that short shifter for years and love it. No problems at all.

Did you own one? How did you come to your conclusion?
