Default Should I buy coilovers?

Alright fellas.. Give me your opinions. I have a 2008 cr and I am about to purchase a set of PSS9 coilovers.

I don't really plan on tracking the car.. just spirited street driving and I want to lose the wheel gap. According to a coilover shootout I saw on a link I got from here, it seems like very few coilovers on that test did better than the stock cr around the track. Even though I don't really plan on hitting the tracks and that might not apply to me I can't help but to look at the results. I think the coilovers that did better was the kw3, spoon and I don't remember the other. Anyways, would you swap out the suspension? Thanks!

I am in the same boat! Considering that most of the modification to the CR are in the suspension I feel that I am kinda going about this retarded. Like the OP said I would love to drop some wheel gap while retaining good handling either the same as stock or better. +1 for incite, sorry to hi-jack.

do as you please, some of us owners go for the handling aspect of the car while others lower their car for a better appearance.

im somewhat in the same boat as well. minus having a cr. i hve a 01 s2k and im debating on what to get as well. be a dd and going to the track sometimes. idk. no auto x. u pretty much get what u pay for which suspension. are you looking for it to ride the same or are you looking for it just to whip turns and dont care about roughness?

I have no problem with a semi harsh ride if it comes with improved handling. I have heard good things about the pss9 and have also heard they are "too soft" for full track duties. It's a bonus for me if I can get improved handling while retaining comfort. I was just hoping to get some feedback from other cr owners. Hi-Jack all you want if this thread helps you lol

yeah thats my problem lol. i still want the semi comfort i have. it is my dd. i would say kw3 are best. they ride rough cause of high spring rate but will handle great. pss9 are also a good choice. ive seen lots of good things about those but not compared to the cr stock suspension...which doesnt help at all lol

If you're running R Compound on the track with Pss9, then you're going to work over the coilover.

I use them and really like them, on the track they handled great on my oem tires.

of course we could just get Motons which retain comfort and are track ready, but they cost $4500 and up!

i would love motons but i'm way too poor and yea that didn't help at all hypforlyfe lol i kid..

thanks for the input idomn8u, when i do give the track a try this spring it will be on my stock tires. a buddy of mine is a driving instructor at a local spot and has invited me.

i'll probably just roll with the pss9 for now and i can always slap the stockers back on if i am not pleased.

you will be more then pleased..

They have very similar spring rates to the CR springs, plus you can dial in compression/rebound in 9 way adjustable.

Don't slam the car, they have a recommended drop area. Which is enough to remove wheel gap.

Quality coilover and worth every penny
