I went with smoked lenses as well and I am happy with em. Cheap too

The 1990's JDM Civic and Integra side markers are very flat, and install without modification.
I have them on mine!

I am running VW Jetta side markers. They sit more flush to the fender and the lenses are clear. Def not plug and play though.

Took about 5hrs of sanding, test fitting, sanding, test fitting, hot glueing, etc. (the VW markers are much larger than the factory holes in the fenders. Had to sand the back of the side markers down and get the clips to fit). More time than most people would spend for side markers...but I enjoy doing that kind of stuff.

One of the vendors was selling a set of Ferrari sidemarker lights, they were beautiful, but they had to be custom fit and needless to say they were a bit pricey. They would have looked amazing though.
