Default Side Strake install question?

ok so im interested in getting a pair of side strakes but i keep hearing horror stories about them falling off etc.... so basically i wanted to know if there is a way to install them without drilling but make sure they stay on the car. let me get some opinons on what can be done or what you have done . thanks

i would stay away from the drilling and find an industrial strength adhesive instead. on my 01 i constantly had to adjust the screws to keep them flush with the car, after i glued them (i used gorilla glue but im sure theres more durable stuff out there) i didnt have any more problems.

This.

I have the 3M body moulding tape holding my front lip on my car. Its been like that over 6 months with no problems at all. I've even plowed snow with it and didnt come off. Some people use this to hold on their spoilers also. As long as you get it on good, it isn't coming off easy at all.

I've always wanted the side strakes but I didnt't want to drill holes, 3M tape is likely the only product that could hold, not totally sure though.

Yep, just clean the area your going to be putting the tape very well. Make sure there is not wax or anything left there. Some people use rubbing alcohol to thourouly clean it. Then when you stick it on, hold pressure on it for a good couple minutes.

Kinda embarassing, but once I was trying to pull my front lip off to re-paint it, and I honestly couldnt do it. Its just the cheap urethane lip, and could get it off if I took my time, but that baby was stuck on there like crazy.

get the real 3m molding tape, it is way stronger than the stuff you can find at home depot or your local auto stores.

the 42xx or 53xx series tapes are very strong. if you are concerned about adhesion wipe the area down with the 3m adhesion promoter first. you can find those wipes at most auto shops.
