Ski Rack on a hardtop?
Hey guys I've only had my s2000 for a few days, and the previous owner put a Mugen hardtop on it. In a few months Snowboard season starts up and I was wondering if anyone has, or tried, to put a ski rack on their hardtop? Do you think it will put too much stress on it?
I have seen the trunk rack to be honest I couldn't possibly hate it more than I already do. I know it will fit inside, but riding with two people will make that pretty difficult. Thanks

I live in Knoxville, TN so there's not much snow, but when I drive to Ober or Cataloochee I park at the bottom and take the Gondola up. All in all it will probably see snow 5-7 days a year.

It's all in the tires. Don't let people scare you. Get a set of *dedicated* snow tires and you will be perfectly fine. I do better in snow in my S2000 with snow tires than I did in my VR4 (AWD) on all-seasons for example.

Dont drive a car not made for the snow in the snow. Dont put a ski rack on a s2k it looks horriable becuase everyone know how bad these car are in the snow and your not really using that rack anyway.

Funny, I thought about the rack just a couple days ago... then I said to my self, "you gotta be outta your damn mind ". I've always driven the hatch to the snow, plus I already have racks for it. Hatch = DD + Snow. S2k = Friday thru Sunday and long trips.

Just reiterating since people seem to be displaying ignorance. Any car (unless it is physically too low to clear snow) is fine in snow with the right tires. Anyone who says otherwise simply lacks the real-world experience.

I say do it, just as long as you have good tires. That would be sweet on the hard top. You could take it off the hard top when not in use. Win Win. In for pics when you do it.
