Default Skunk2 stageII cams :(

I'm having no luck with a set of Skunk2 stgII cams. After installation of these cams I noticed the timing chain started slapping the front cover. I tried different methods of improving the timing chain tensioner (TCT), first installing a stronger spring behind the piston, second increasing the length of the piston, and last drilling out the oil orifice with no changes in performance. I also changed out the valve springs to a set of Brian Crower springs with titanium retainers. So, i figured i changed two things, I wanted to back track my mods. The cams were the easiest to replace. After installing the stock cams the noise totally disappeared with an unmodified TCT. I guess I'm stuck with the stock cams and upgraded valve springs.

And BC cams bites another S2000 owner. This saga is getting old and yet they continue to sell the damn things.

Correction, it is Skunk 2. They still don't work.

I have seen Brian Crower springs/stock cams used to combat the valve dropping issue with no side effects. So, BC being the culprit is not the case. Maybe the cams, yes.

I am going to see about getting Brian to send me a set of Stage 3 cams to prove they work.... with the supporting mods to make them work.

From what I have been told by Skunk2, it is recommended to purchase a new TCT when installing their cams. They also said you need to tighten the TCT one click tighter then normal to get rid of the noise / slapping.
tighten TCT one click !?
