Default Soft top glass unglued, is this fixable?

Thanks to Florida heat, my soft top glass window from Robbins has unglued itself. I literally take my window out when I’m going to drive it and put it back on when I store it. I want to fix this. Is it possible to reinstall the window or am I going to need another top? My top is in excellent condition, it’s the window that now fell out. Or do you think some convertible top shops may be able to fix this?

A professional soft top shop should be able to fix this. The biggest challenge is having glue seep through and start showing on the exterior of the soft top. Like you, we have horrific heat here (120-140F) during the summer, but my car(s) will be stored underground and not used until the temperatures become humane once again.

It's a losing battle, I used a windshield epoxy to seal the glass to the top the first time. The second time I said fk it and got a blue OEM top. Nothing beats OEM.

It is very tricky on this car to compress the glass to the top until the glue fully cures. OEM tops don't have this problem.

If you maintain the straps the OEM top will outlast any aftermarket top

I don't recall hearing about this issue before. I still have my OEM top. I made sure all the sharp points were sanded down and use Raggtopp religiously. However, someday it will have to go. I saw some Robbins cloth tops at a recent S2000 rally in Nevada and was quite impressed with the quality of the tops. I had no idea the glass was glued after installation and not in the manufacturing process.

My view is that there should be as little glue used as possible, it there is enough stitching all around the glass area. This is my first soft top so I have o glue how long it would last, I will stay out of the direct sun as long as I can.

It took about 4 years of leaving the car out in the Miami sun for the glue to start coming off the first time, then I glued the windshield, and 3 years later it started coming off again, that's when I got the OEM soft top, OEM truly is the best as far as fitment and quality.

Well, I hope Honda (or its OEM supplier) keep producing the OEM replacement tops.

This happened to my son's Miata's aftermarket top. The vendor replaced the top for free under warranty.

I personally installed a Robbin Soft top in my car just last month. I will say it is just as good quality as the OEM top.

Now I do have the old top just laying in storage. There is no harness for the defroster as that transfers. But I will sell it cheap if you are interested. You will need to have someone who knows how to install it as there is some additional parts needed for install the rain rail, rivets that normally comes with new tops for the install. You will need to source.
