Soft top tears- replacing straps for soft top?
So I lowered my soft top about a month ago and I noticed some minor near tiny tears in the top. I was able to seal up the tears but now I am scared to ever drop the top. I went on MODIFRY's site to learn more about their replacement straps. Any DIYs on this besides the one there? What other factors could be the cause of the soft top tears? I also that time (wear and tear) is a huge factor and that most soft tops only last a good 7 years.
Any info is welcomed, thanks guys

Look up TSB 09-033 regarding the rips in the soft top. In addition to your straps needing to be replaced, the TSB also provides instructions to smooth down the sharp edges on the top's frame that might contribute to top rips.
Modifry's replacement straps worked great for the bars to properly retract and fold the top. However, the straps only lasted me less than a year (haven't been top down that much since I replaced my top; maybe being stretched for long periods of time contributed to this). I'm back to manually pulling back the second bar when I drop the top. I'll purchase another set of straps from Modifry soon.
