SOS 11.5 lb Lightweight Flywheel dpp-511
I just noticed this and found it odd. From the SOS site http://www.scienceofspeed.com/produc...rged_flywheel/ I initially was going to get the SOS clutch and ST flywheel. I purchased the flywheel first. It came in the mail, I looked it over and let it sit in the box until the clutch came in. I just got done installing it last night, and as I was looking at this admiring my work, I noticed that something looked different.

This didn't look like the flywheel that I ordered.
So I run to look at my packing slip, and sure enough, part number dpp-511 is a Competition Clutch Lightweight Flywheel part number 2-669-ST, as stated on the invoice. Looking at the Competition site, it shows the same image shown on the SOS site:

So what flywheel do I have exactly o_O?
It does weigh 11ish lbs, as the package total was 13lbs.
Either way, I installed the clutch myself, which btw removing and putting the transmission in by yourself without a transmission jack is very tricky, but not impossible, and it's not coming out until its time for a replacement.
I ended up mating it with a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, which from the best I can tell Centerforce uses an OEM or a modified OEM pressure plate, and a modified clutch disk (both have HONDA engravings). So far initial impressions are positive. Acceleration seems quicker, but I cant really get on it since i'm still breaking it in.
I will say that i was VERY impressed with the presentation of Centerforce's clutch. The packaging was beautiful, the paperwork was nicely organized in an envelope, and the clutch itself looked as good as a clutch can I suppose. I'm not sure if it was worth the price, and the s2000 version did not come with the weights on the PP that CF is known for (the weights increase the clamping force as RPM's rise) due to clearance, but THANK GOD no more effing clutch buzz.
I will also note that I ordered the pilot bearing and TO bearing from SOS, which are just OEM Honda parts, and they did not come with a clutch alignment tool. Not sure if the clutches themselves come with those, but Centerforce did not provide me with one either.

If you keep it centered by eye as you tighten the PP down, you can use a prybar on the clutch fork while turning the output flange with the trans in reverse. Pops right on every time for me, and faces the transmission up as it goes on.

So it's been a few months of living with the Centerforce clutch and the SOS (competition) flywheel.
I love it! The absolute worst thing that I did to my S was install a stage 2 competition clutch (the second worst thing was buy a mugen replica HT that makes noise no matter how much I lube the seals, and has horrific wind noise). The clutch buzz completely took away from the driving experience. I'm happy to say that this has 0 clutch buzz. After the break in period I did some hard pulls and it feels great. My perception might be skewed, since I drove on a slipping clutch for 6 months or so, and essentially couldnt use 6th gear or rev above 5k in any gear.
BUT it FEELS like it accelerates a bit faster due to the flywheel. It definitely is not the same as the OEM flywheel that I took off, and it does weigh less than stock, as I could verify the weight from the UPS shipping sticker.
I also don't have to deal with that jerky ride when driving slow. It feels stock, but apparently its rated better than stock. No complaints here, and I'd recommend Centerforce to anyone. I'm just happy I went with Centerforce instead of the SOS clutch.
