Spec D headlight and ballast replacement/modification
So my S2k was in an accident and I was forced to do the repairs on my own. I didnt have the time to do a proper how to but hope this helps some people. Along with my headlights i also had to replace the ballasts.
Heres a list of parts and prices I used to do it
Headlights - $264
D2s harness - $12
Ballasts - $30
All of which I got off ebay. The D2s harness isnt required unless you want to be able to use the factory style D2s bulbs








as you can see in order to seal the light inside the assembly I made a plate that fits snug inside the square hole of our head lights. I made it using fiberglass and bondo. First I put tin foil inside and around my old busted headlight then put in some fiberglass strands and filled with resin. once hard i coated it with bondo sanded it to fit snug using a dremel tool. once fitment was good i drilled a hole, fed through the wires for the bulb harness and sealed it with red RTV sealant. then added adhesive sealant and pressed it into the lamp assembly. I used a 35 watt setup but there are 55w once available as well. In my research I learned the 55w tends to burn out faster and was uncertain about it considering our factory ballast is a 34w setup. feel free to PM me with any questions the end result isnt too shabby. One discrepancy however is that the new headlight lenses tend not to distribute the light evenly so in the future i plan to swap them with the old factory lenses.
