Default Spoon 2.2L stroker kit?

I've searched for discussion on this kit and haven't really found much of what i was looking for.

It is described and demonstrated here in this video complements of GT Channel :

http://www.gtchannel.com/content.php?cid=11634

I would like to know a couple things about this kit.

1. Does anyone on the forum have this set up who can give price and performance numbers

2. what is the difference in this spoon engine that allows the engine to rev up to 8600 RPM rather than the F22Cs 8000?

3. Could this stroker kit be applied to an F22C engine to produce an extra 600RPM / Is there a better way or alternatives to make more RPM with more power...

any input is much appreciated

This is a good question for the Modifications forum or the JDM forum. If you have problems getting the car to start after you finish the stroke kit, post here and we can try to help.

my understanding is the F22C is just a stroked F20, stroked to the exact same specs as the Spoon 2.2 kit

Plenty of us rev our 2.2s up to 8600rpm, there is nothing special about the Spoon kit that allows it to do that, 8000rpm limit is just an arbitrary limit set by Honda.

i think this was discussed in the s2000 talk section of the forum that the 8600 limit was the safest highest limit that spoon felt the engine could handle... something about the piston speed of the 2.0 at 9000 rpm is equivalent to the piston speed of the 2.2 at 8600 rpm. i dont claim to know a lot about engines but from that discussion i think we concluded that 8000 rpm is just the limit set by honda, possibly and probably for reliability.

At the end when they are asking the difference between the oem and spoon stroke it's just a big joke... there is no difference that allows for more RPM.
