so i'm in the market for calipers and settled on Spoon calipers. I test fitted my rim on a friends s2000 that has spoon calipers to check for clearance...
my front rim is a 17x7 +38 (5Zigen FN10-R) and the spokes clear the calipers with about 1 mm of clearance.
i wanna make sure that the calipers dont interfere with the rims; (ie heat expansion, hard cornering, etc.) this is my first time dabbling with calipers...will this be enough clearance? should i run a 2-3 mm spacer just in case?

This is interesting. The rims should flex? The spoon calipers have 1mm or LESS clearance with the +35 SW388s. I couldn't even fit a credit card between the two. I never had any problems.
Like i said, it's more likely to be the caliper itself that move out of line, knock back and flexing could happen if you track your car hard enough, i don't know how well is the construction of the spoon binder but i think the wilwood lite binder are known for flexing
I had about the same clearance with my endless BBK with fn01rc and my ccw and i never encountered any problems even when i tracked it.
for peace of mind i would run a 3mm spacer but i think that you dont need it...
