Default Springs vs Coil Overs

I've been back and forth about going with lowering springs and coil overs. I'm on a budget and know the inexpensive way to go would be the springs, but I like having the abilty to adjust the ride height of the car. I wanted the car to still have a comfortable ride but at the same time have an aggressive stance with good handling.I've been looking at getting the Swift or Espelirs (springs) but is it necessary to get new aftermarket shocks? As far as a full suspension; I was trying to stay right around $1000. I ran across the Megan Flex/Megan Coil Over dampering kit and was wondering has anyone ran this or have heard any good reviews about it. Any feedback is appreciated!
