Cool. I might give a resonated TP a shot before a HFC. T1R makes a resonated pipe, correct? Only others I can find are the Megan one and a bunch of cheap Ebay ones.
Asura Design also makes a resonated TP in 63 & 70. Quality products, I have their 70 HFC with Invidia Q300. Sounds good and no smells.

I'll definitely have to look into that. Thanks

Thanks....I was trying to think who I saw a resonated test pipe from on here but couldn't remember for the life of me. I'm pretty sure when I get a test pipe it's going to be resonated.

Just curious, but what is this "nasty test pipe smell?" I have a 70mm Invidia test pipe on my Greddy single and the only difference I notice between that and stock (other than volume, of course) is a wonderful and delightful smell of burnt fuel every now and then. Mmmmmm.

To those with the resonated tp or HFC, is the difference THAT noticeable on a single exhaust? I've been led to believe that it will always be loud without a silencer.

I have a resonated Megan TP on my stock exhaust and its great. Makes the exhaust deeper and removed the drone at highway speeds.

If you're not in a emission Nazi state, I'd recommend the TP over the HFC.

For those wondering about the REAL resonated test pipes, yes they do make a big difference. I am of course referring to the T1-r resonated pipe, NOT the megan one. The resonator on the megan is so small it makes hardly NO difference. It's like the resonators on the Invidia, pretty much useless.

Yes. I have the Apex'i GT-spec which is fairly mellow as far as single exhausts are concerned. I have had stock cat, HFC, and test pipe installed with this exhaust. HFC is almost identical to the stock cat, very little difference in tone or volume. The test pipe was much louder and raspier, although I actually liked the sound. If you find your exhaust is too loud with a test pipe, a HFC will most certainly quiet it down, possibly too quiet as the poster of this thread is concerned about.

100% disagree. I have the Megan you're speaking of, and it made a very noticeable difference on my car. Completely eliminated the stock exhaust crusing speed drone.

I'll most likely be picking up the T1R resonated test pipe.

I see... I have no experience with it on a stock exhaust, so that was my bad.
