Default Stock Exhaust w/ No Resonator and Test Pipe?!?

Well, I don't even have my S2K yet, but I am definitly getting one. I plan on a K&N FIPK intake first off, but I definitly want a louder exhaust. I was wondering how much louder the stock exhaust would be if I got the resonator removed, AND added a test pipe? I do want the exhaust to be somewhat loud, but not enough to get a ticket just from idling or droning out the intake. Anybody have sound clips maybe?Would prob help a lot..... I just am not sure whether or not to spend so much $$ on exhaust, at least right now.

No resonator + Test Pipe = RICE

Seriously it sounds terrible. leave the resonator and get the test pipe. It sounds nice that way.

theres a sound clip in the gallery where the resonator was removed. also check out the exhaust library for other exhaust sounds

removing the resonator doesn't free up the exhaust flow, just makes it raspy.

you are asking for opinions here. so nothing said here is definite. I've read that people LOVE the sound with a test pipe and resonator removed. obviously above they don't like it. A problem with listening to sound clips is that the recorded sound isn't always what it will sound like live (recording quality, quality of speakers, etc etc).

I started with the FIPK and then did the testpipe. I'll tell you that with just the testpipe, there isn't THAT much of a change in exhaust noise. it gets a little deeper and a little louder, but with the K&N intake, you'll hear more intake noise then exhaust. So i did what several others have done and just replaced the mufflers with magnaflows. Exhaust is very aggressive now but not overwhelming. I personally would leave the resonator in but again, just like everything else on this topic, it's just my opinion.

Ive been looking into exhaust's for the S2K alot, altho I haven't heard much about the Magnaflow's.......I figure I will prob end up getting exhaust anyway in the long run, so first I will buy a testpipe, and if its not enough for me, I may get the resonator removed. ALtho I would like to know more about the Magnaflows, because exhaust costs so much.

just get the test pipe and remove the resonator. If you don't like the sound, its only another $20 to get the resonator welded back in...total cost being no more then $50 to remove and replace the resonator.

I think that is your best bet

I'm telling you the resonatorless exhaust + testpipe is going to sound retarded. If you like how civics with fart pipes sound you will love it though.

I have the stock exhaust w/o resonater and a test pipe. I don't think it's sounds too bad. It's normal just cruising around and doesn't seem loud when getting on it. Maybe someone from the North texas section can chime in.

I "think" it sounds like the resonator removal, but a bit more. btw i have the megan test pipe.
