Default straight cut gears?

i have been looking for a good set of gears when i came across some straight cut and/or Helical cut gears. i am wondering if anyone of you guys have them and if so what ratio's? also if you are happy with them. i just wanna see how they are. and keep in mind i didnt ask for a opinion on if i should get them or not. so please no replies like "dont get them" - "they are not worth it" or "why do u need them" . i never said im getting them just would like some info on them.

From What I hear, Straight cut gears are louder but they can handle more power. They are more suited for race applications, but I know of people running straight cut gears in Camaro/Firebirds. Dont know about them in s2000s though.

OEM = Helical cut.

straight cuts are very noisey, however very strong also. unless your running big power you dont need straight cuts (they do sound tough though).

helical cut is (as above) how the oem gears are cut.

if your after stronger gears, perhaps look at helical cut gears made from a stronger metal?

Currently have a straight cut 1st-2nd gears in my Lotus.
There is a whinning sound specially @ decelleration. Other than that, nothing difference.
Yep just like Jaeyon00 said, they ae stronger. I blew my 2nd gear the reason I beefed it up using straight cut.

Looking to get a set if I keep the car - getting more likely but not sure yet. Loud but strong. To me, reliability in the drivetrain is top priority even over performance at this point.

They're stronger. The problem is that you have to buy a transmission with them and they are very expensive. Noisey is a bit of an understatement too. Imagine reverse pegged out in every gear.

I believe hes talking about the rear end gears. not transmission gears.

I don't think they make them for a oem housing. They are still loud as hell though.
