Default Super Bright Interior Lights

So I brought some LED lights for my existing interior light but they are flickering every so often, I decided then to make a version of my own which will hopefully be much brighter.

Parts that I brought include a second hand interior light off ebay, x10 9 LED panel with different fixings, black spray paint for the outside of the light frame to change it from the grey to black.

I have not started it properly yet I am waiting for a sheet of black plastic to be delivered but I have a few pictures of what I have currently got.

I will at some point wire up red neons in my footwells that either come on when a switch is flicked or when the doors are opened, I may make half of the cup holder into a little switch box, I have not decided yet.

I hope you like the idea, I know its not too major but any feedback or advice would be good

I have no idea, I think brighter purely because I will have 45 SMD's on each side of the interior light, so with both on that will be 90 SMD's.

I will have to find a way to make sure they are using the right power though, because there is so many of them they may reduce the max output.

Im thinking the first time you turn these on at night you will regret it. Gonna get blinded.

Well I just checked my power output and I was running them at 19v not the 12v that will be going through the car, so maybe I wont get blinded too much!

I use two of those LED panels in my dome light and it's plenty bright, not sure if I would want any more in there.
I put another one in the trunk though which lights it up really nice.

Maybe they will be fine on the voltage from the existing supply then, I have brought some voltage boosters that I can use just in case.

I got a 5m strip of LEDs which I plan on using in the boot, not all of it maybe only 2m of it. Not sure what to do with the rest of it, 2 options are either put it around the soft top tray and connect to a switch so I can store things there with the roof up (going to have a fiddle with it at some point) or put it on the underside of the doors so when I open them at night I can see the ground when I get out.

I have also ordered some red LED strip lights to use in the footwells, that is a project for another day though!

Agreed. I have SMD LED's and not even close to the 90 of them. They are bright enough.

If they do seem to bright I could probably put some spare window tint over the clear lense/cover. I think that may look quite nice in all black and then when the lights are on the light will be a bit dimmer.

I have now glued all the led panels to a sheet of plastic that I cut to hold them all. They are very very bright, but hopefully not too bright!

The first picture is with the clear cover off and then the second picture has the clear cover just laying over it to give an idea.
