I had the 70R yes, but my comment still stands There should still be drone and backfiring with the RT as well. The note was amazing - best sounding N/A exhaust I had ever heard (the SS version - haven't heard the ti in person).

You can lessen the backfiring with tuning but if you're stock ecu then you'll be popping all over the place

I had the 70RT and it drones a bit but manageable. You do get backfire 'pops' if you down shift. You do get an odor sometimes. But all that gets forgotten when you hit VTEC.

You're not driving hard enough then Try downshifting and hitting 6-7K in the lower gear you shift to and you'll definitely hear some loud pops come from the back of your car. Make sure you can rev match really well if you downshift like this though.

Backfire isn't necessarily bad; it depends on your meaning of bad. Does it hurt your car? No. Does it mean you need a retune? Possibly. When you let off the gas, fuel and spark have to be cut. Typically spark is cut before fuel so that last bit of unburned fuel goes through and gets to the hot exhaust and ignites. The backfire is the little explosion of unburned fuel.

If you're backfiring, look into a piggy back and get some tuning done. You'll pick up a LOT of power with the 70mm single, not to mention better gas mileage and driveability.
