Default T1R header

hi guys, i'm looking for a header to complete my full exhaust system. i narrow it down to either T1R or J's. I know J's is the best for sure but just wondering how good is T1R comparing to the J's. i have heard T1R gains minimal maybe 1 whp? but also someone says it is very close to j's. now i have the J's intake, J's test pipe and J's 60RS single. i expect most of you guys will say for J's but just wanna hear some honest comment or opinion about T1R. a dyno sheet would be a great help. thanks guys

From the spec's, it looks like it would make good gains. I wish T1R released dyno charts for thier product

I was also in the same boat as yourself. From what i found out is that the T1R is really close to the J's racing without the price tag. So if you wanna save yourself some money go for the T1R, and if you wanna go all out go for the J's racing.. But with your set up i would say complete it with J's racing

I have the T1R header, the specs are not like the J's..

T1R spec: 48mm primaries, 55mm secondaries connects to 65mm collector
J's spec: 50mm primaries, 50mm secondaries, tapering to a 55-65mm collector

I wanted to get the J's but it was SOLD OUT in the US and CANADA, didnt want to wait for 3 months to ship it from Japan..

Gains are minimal without a tune, (cant feel it on the butt-dyno)
It does save weight tho, the stock header is heavy compared to the T1R..

^ are you sure about that? i had the k&n fipk intake and a testpipe and dynoed 195 whp, then i dynoed with a stock intake, invidia exhaust, test pipe and T1R POWER HEADER, and made 208 whp. so on average the K&n make 3whp at peak, so my car made roughly 192 whp stock. an average exhaust makes 5 whp at peak, so lets do the math, 192+5=197. 208-197=11whp. humm thats alot more than i thought it would be. well you get the idea. my t1r power header made a lot of power.

the only difference between the two runs were that i took the lid off and put a fan in front of the air box. oh edit my first post, i dont mean the header sounds gay but it does sound raspy. i also meant that the people who lost it are gay!!

well actually invidia exhaust, t1r power header, snorkel, with stock intake and air box, berk test pipe, and a cooling plate. but on a dyno, the snorkel and the cooling plate means nothing. um humm.. the sound? the stock one sounds stock(quiet). the header sounds like any other header, a lil raspy with my exhaust, not annoying but it did make the car have a different tone, not louder, just different tone as in the pitch. but i have the t1r power header, and no one on s2ki has really heard of it or it is not on any official header thread. the new one they make is one there, so you might get a differnt gain or sound, but they all sound alike. so be warned, they have two.

p.s. the one i have, t1r power header, was made for ap1, but it seem to work great on my car. so just saying. they also look different!
