I do like the red tint. Looks great.

 

This. AP2 tails look awesome, keep them. I think it might have been S4Play that did a bunch of options for them. Like smoking just the amber in the center and stuff like that. I still like stock better though.

i was looking last year 'cause i had a cracked corner and surprisingly there was nothing, i'd have thought there would've been something but no, ended up buying an old ap1 set 'cause the owner was parting out a wreck. with people paying top dollar for ap2 tails, you'd think there would be a market for a company to produce an ap2 style version for the ap1 guys.

...while I agree with the general feeling that an "aftermarket" style wonuld probably be lame, I do think that the OEM is just to damn dated/busy...

There is just too much going on.

I think that the red vinyl makes the car look more contemporary (and less like it was designed in the 90's).



I thought I'd try vinyl and then paint them if i liked them... I'll be getting them painted later this year
-- buy the sheet vinyl - the precut is to small and tweeky.

 

I was thinking about just getting vinyl and cutting out the white revearse part of the ap2. So its not just all red but you see the white part too.. but I am not sure how hard its going to be.

 

I have thought of this exact thing before, I think a MB style tail light would look nice if done right.

 

But you have a S, not a z4.
