Default Is a taller windscreen effective?

Does a taller windscreen really cut down on wind turbulence with the top down at highway speeds?

Mine does. Esp with the windows up. Come out to a meet and you can take it for a spin. It was a pain to install though as you have to pop apart the oem one thats held together with some kind of glue. Then it was also a pain to put the new one back in. I used alot of silicon caulking to make it not rattle.

I heard it vibrates a lot at highway speed and interferes with the soft top folding down.

it helps, but not as much as you think. you can't fold the top down with the windscreen down, or open the secret compartment with the windscreen is up, and the top is up

Good info. I wanted to get one, but will stick with the oem one or the an illuminated oem size windscreen.

I bought mine from Js2k, It def reduces the cabin turbulence while driving top down and even more so with the windows up. It folds up and down just like the oem so its not much of an issue to fold it up or down when putting the top up or down, but you do need to move it. I have one of the original ones so i believe the illumation is brighter on the newer ones but I am happy with mine! The led lights are not really visible in the day time. My only small annoyance is that it does flop around like a big rubber dildo (thanks for the reference whoever coined it!) at highway speeds with the top down, haha. It is the 7/8ths tall, the fullsize is slightly taller but unable to fold up and down with top up. It is slightly thinner than oem so I believe this is what causes the floppiness and the increased pressure pushing on it, as well. I know Ricks sells one too, but its at least 3x more expensive and unable to be folded. I have heard you can buy rubber stoppers/bumpers that are made to prevent the flopping syndrome, but have not seen them. I just gunked a ton of silicon in between the prongs that hold it in place to alleviate any creaks and to minimize flopping!

I have the Js2k one as well. Definitely does help with wind turbulence! I had to add a lot of extra clear silicone around it to keep it secure. Would also squeek like crazy before doing that. Still wobbles around a little bit but very happy with it!

I have a taller one on my S. Came on the car when I bought it, so I actually have no idea what the difference would be between it and stock.
However, I do think it cuts down a lot on the wind turbulence with the windows up for sure. I get less wind turbulence with the top down, windows up, then I do with the top up and windows down.
The only thing I can really say though is that mine flops around A LOT on the highway, and squeaks a lot as well. I am sure it can be fixed, like everyone else has said, I just haven't gotten around to it. I have a good fix for it, either a blend of engine/exhaust noise, or stereo volume up to MAX.
