SO basically, if you wreck your car into a ditch and they catc you with a TP, at least you can say 'Well...I was offroading'

They are 'illegal' in any state or county that requires emissions testing with sniffers. If you don't get sniff tested and the tp doesn't make you throw a CEL then with a standard plug-in OBD2 emissions test you should be fine.

Here in GA only certain counties have emissions.
FTW. I've never even heard of anyone getting fined or ticketed for not having a cat here in GA on any type of vehicle. The only counties that require emissions testing are the ones in the Atlanta area I think.

Illegal, but a lot of people do it... I just put an invidia 70mm on my stock exhaust (will be getting a 70mm single so just getting ahead of my self). I'll post a video of stock cat vs test pipe on stock exhaust soon for comparison. One thing I'm not a big fan of, is the strong smell of gasoline once stopped. Not that I personally hate it and cant stand it, but if i was to get pulled over a cop would definitely notice something is fishy lol. Or a comment from a girl the other night: "something is wrong with ur car, it stinks!" lol....
