If it turns out to be a total disaster, that Pas2knut piece looks like a clean alternative

UPDATE: (6/20/2011)
Still waiting for trunk carpet to arrive. I haven't done a lot of fiberglass work, so I'm just really glad my hands didn't end up stuck together!

The first attempt fit great, but was ridiculously ugly(lumpy) and wasted a lot of space.

The second attempt flows with the left side of the trunk liner much better but still needs a bit more resin in some areas.

I hadn't noticed this little bump before, but it makes a great receiver for a lower tab.

UPDATE: (6/21/2011)

Up close, the carpet (Parts Epxress 260-765) looks like a good match...

Take a few steps back and...AUGHHHHHH!!! Can anyone recommend a source for better matching carpet?

Make me one!! haha. Looks great!

I'd try a spray carpet dye to get it unified if it bugs you...
Looks great though.

Looks good! Wouldnt mind rocking that at all!
Whaaaa!? Thanks for the support but it seriously looks pretty bad. Notice the similarity below... New carpet is on order and should arrive Monday!

UPDATE: (6/27/2011)
The Crutchfield silver trunk carpet recommended on another S2ki thread is far too light...

UPDATE: (6/28/2011)
I went to three different stereo shops this afternoon and could not find a match. Now I am taking S2KNFR's advice (thanks for the tip!) and making lemonade! This is black vinyl/fabric paint on Crutchfield silver carpet. The coat on the right edge is a bit thick while the left edge looks too light. One last attempt later today!

The second and final attempt came out much better. This time the carpet was laid flat and sprayed then laid onto the panel to prevent inconsistencies around the contours of the panel. Viewed directly, the panels are the same color, but from an angle they appear slightly different as the sprayed carpet reflects light differently. I think getting a closer match is beyond my skills. Time to move on to amp relocation

That look nice , u should make them for sale.. I'll buy one
I just cutted a hole in mine, & made a wood board bolted down to the spare tire mount for my amps.
