Default Thinner head gasket?

i checked my car today and found a small leak near the headgasket. but i researched it and found out its normal??????

anyways, long story short, i thought of getting another head gasket. i looked at the spoon sports and its 0.46mm (std is 0.76mm).... correct me if im wrong. then i search to find one. went on ebay and found cosworth head gasket and its .38mm. (theres also .80mm and 1.10mm) and they run $148

my questions are....

1. is it going to be safe on a stock motor/ecu? (i use 93 only)
2. will i feel a difference in power?
and 3. do i have to worry about piston slap or anything?

i searched on here and found no answer.... jw if anyone has done this or know anyone. thanks

How do you find a crack on a headgasket without removing the head? Are you just seeing leaks off the HG? or are you talking about valve cover gasket?!

I'll answer question number 2.

After spending $148 on a head gasket and doing the labor to install it, you will definitely feel a difference in power, whether there is any difference or not.

it kinda looks like this thread.

https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showt...=0&#entry582441

but not as bad. i read it a bit and it says its not the headgasket so i dont really have to worry about it????? idk.... but its just the thought in my mind about the thinner head gasket thing that makes me want to ask questions.

but its a definite if my headgasket is leaking. just worried about how the car is goin to behave

if yours looks like that yes the head gasket is leaking but the front part of the motor only has oil so your just loosing oil. IF that is the only leak. never on any car is leakage normal some people accept it but it's not normal. you car isn't going to behave different unless u lose a lot of oil. can u drive the car i would say yes. should u let this go on for a long time no. if the headgasket is leaking there it is prob old and worn out other places too so it's just a matter of time before a more critical place of failure happens.

and to your original question a thinner head gasket raises compression and thicker one lowers it depending on your build get what you need.

thinner on 93 gas is fine
will prob not feel a difference with just that mod it would help a little if you end up getting a tuned at some point
no it wont affect your motor just make sure u adjust the valves after doing a head gasket.
