TODA timing chain tensioner and Timing chain
 

I searched and I failed. I think this is a new product for the F20C.

My car has had the bike spoke rattle already and honestly im kinda scared to use it now, was wondering if this can work on a stock F20C, hoping that it would be more durable than the stock TCT? thanks a bunch guys.

Man, the stock TCT really doesn't fail as much as you'd think. You can probably buy loads of them to pay for a single Toda one. The vast majority of us have never seen failures of the stock TCT (including myself) and, as I understand it, the installation of a new one is not that bad.

Save some money. Go stock.

Its only about $250 USD. I would pay that if meant that it never "fail" again. I've seen threads where people have replaced them with new onesand those failed after a short period of time. I'm curious about the outcome of this product.

I'm willing to bet that the toda one is an oem part with the billman fix.

Looks like it has a manual adjustment from the pic. Shame they don't publish any instructions on the website.

That nut and screw on the backside of the tensioner is for installation only. There is no manual adjustment from what I can see. It looks exactly like an oem tct without the small pin holding the piston in for installation.

billman fix? is this the fix wherein you stretch the spring?

Sandblast the worm gear inside and out.

Hi guys,

I took the plunge and bought the TODA one. I was In need of a new one anyway having sandblasted my old one and it returned itself to buzz after about 5000 miles.

At first glance the only difference is Toda Racing printed on the casing. I took it apart alongside the OEM and all parts appear to be the same, worm gear doesnt look any different, springs are the same. Thought hey ho... worth a go.... HOWEVER.... went to install it and upon removing the maintenance bolt and putting the oil bolt in the difference became apparant. The TODA's oil bolt is recessed into the hole by about 5-7mm(OEM is flush). A modification that im sure anyone with decent machine tools could carry out. All oil ways seem to be the same size as OEM.

I can only assume that in reducing the volume of oil on the piston side of the oil bolt, you are increasing the pressure... anyone confirm?

Car sounds fine. Puts this question to bed anyway!
