i installed my hks and megan racing test pipe combo tonight. at first it didnt sound bad, but now it sounds like something is "scraping" almost. Ive heard that tp can make the exhaust sound rattly but i didnt know if would be this severe... is this normal??

humm....i have the megan TP with the T1R Duals and I never heard anything like that.

no, when i rev it just sounds like...something is scraping. does your tp have that weird resonator thing on it? i bought mine used and im thinking that it may be worn out...

 

the megan resonated test pipes are known to go bad and have the stuff inside the resonator rattle around. mine was fine when i had it but i've heard stories of others.

 

that must be it, know where i can get a good straight tp?? with no resonator bs

mine was making the same noise turned out it was the 02 sensor came loose and was rattling really bad.

 

Get the berk test pipe. Really good quality piece, CEL fix. 7whp gain with it here.

 

i would take that as a possibility if i hadnt installed the damn thing yesterday!! its just such a PITA...
