Default Trouble getting headlight back together

Hey guys,
Im having trouble getting my driver side headlight back together correctly.
I put in clear headlight diffusers in my AP2 and not the diver side housing wont sit flush with the hood. The tabs arnt holding the two parts together so I know WHY its not flush. I dont know HOW to remedy this. Ive reheated it multiple times and even wrapped it with twine to hold it together while drying. After I cut the twine off it just came back apart. Anyone have a similar problem, regardless of the MY? Anyone have a solution?
Here is a pic showing the "un-flushness" of the light.

From your description, the "unflushness" is the least of your problems. If the seam isn't sealed tight, you're going to have water problems.

what did you heat the lights in? the oven? if you did use the oven and that hasn't worked, try using a heat gun and heating the sealant up directly (as opposed to the oven which would heat the whole light) and than try putting it back together. I haven't done this with s2k lights before but i have on other honda headlights and that seamed to work the best.

if any, contact js2k.com im sure he could help u out

how are you reheating the headlights.

i would pull the lens out and reheat the sealant in the channel on the headlight housing with a heatgun till it gets goey being careful not to melt the plastic headlight housing though. then squeeze the lens and housing back together making sure the tabs line up and lock back into position. you shouldnt need anything to hold them together while the sealant cools down.

Did you following the directions on Ricks site? That is what I followed and it works well.

Sounds to me like your plastic tabs aren't locking together, and when you release your tension they are popping out. The tabs on the lens will lock with the housing when re-assembling if you've done it right.

Scott sealed his back up flush with some more silicone, if I'm reading your description correctly.

Bake until silicon in creases is soft, when it is, you put some more silicon in the crease. Put lens in the crease, and squeeze together as best you can, put back in oven for a little while longer to loosen silicon some more. Get out and squeeze together more, then go around the edge with pliers and squeeze lens and backing together until you can clip the tabs. Easier w more hands.

On the opposite side of the "unflush" side you gotta make sure that the lens is in it's correct position. I did this once before I pushed everything together sometimes the lense will get caught inside near the housing. Preheat oven to 400 degrees once it's preheated TURN IT OFF and put the headlight in the oven, after 10 mins take them out and pre heat the oven to 400 again, pull the headlight lense apart, add silicone, put lens in correct position, put back in oven for about 5 mins for glue to get soft again, pull it out and push everything together. Hope that helped
