Default A twist on the DIY cup holder

The DIY cup holder is described here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...c=269896&st=0&

As great as it is, it doesn't address one of my concerns which is to also augment the drink container with more insulation to keep things as cold as possible for as long as possible.

Here's what I've come up with which I think is a better solution, at least for my needs. My answer is a Lowe Alpine Waistbelt bottle pocket which features a stiff flat velcro rear as wide and tall as the pocket itself. That stiffness allows the top edge to be tucked under the center console leather cover.

It remains fairly securely in place although pulling a bottle out may dislodge the tucked portion from the center console. I know I can make this arrangement more secure to obviate this but frankly I'm content with it as is, at least for now

Haha, very nice
I usually just stick whatever I'm drinking down to the bottom left of the passenger's seat. I never really bring open containers in my car, so this works fine for bottles, and it stays still too

Spook,

That's what I used to do as well. But between the bottle getting warm too quickly and too often sliding away from that left passenger seat nook, something more was needed

i put water bottles or other things (sunglasses case, cd case) in the cubby area under the seat (carpeted metal brace to seat bottom). works great and easy to reach.

gospeedgo1,

Two problems for me with how you've described your handling of water bottles:
(1) My reaching under either seat while driving is a non-starter from both safety and my physiological standpoints. I don't have a very long reach
(2) Doesn't address keeping items colder than their container alone allows. This Lowe unit adds insulation.

They don't come in that color. Actually I would have preferred any color that reflects heat but..... Still this puppy does pretty well at keeping things cool.

Great idea, I'm gonna do it too. OT but what kind of shift knob is that? Looks like burled wood.
