Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get the VAFC2 for my s2000. I looked on the usual sites I buy from for it, but I couldnt find one. If you know a place where I can get one I wuld appreciate the help.

I may have to do that if I cant find one elsewhere. Some people I know have had a few bad experiences with ebay though and so I dont use it unless I have to. Thanks for the reply though.

ebay is the best, sets the mark for the vendors so the prices won't skyrocket...(I think i'm way too bored )

I was lookin at the APEXi website and came across this, does anyone know anything about it. It says it has all the vafc and safc functions in one. The main thing I want one of these for is to lower the vtec engagememt point a little. Will this one do it?

http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_electroni...d=260&pageNum=1

Also, I found a VAFC 2 on ebay. I am thinking i will get that if this "new" one doesnt do what I want it to. I call it new because i have never seen or heard of the one I found on the APEXi website before now. Lastly if anyone has any pointers as to how to use one of these things I would appreciate any advise anyone can give. Thanks.

you definitely need to do a little searching around on here because there are a TON of threads about the VAFCs as well as the NEO and it's good info.

The NEO will allow more points of tuning and smaller RPM increments, I believe. Something along those lines. Also, it looks prettier.

Possibly not worth the extra money for most.

Totally would have done more searching, but problem with that is that it doesnt work at my work. Dont, know why, but almost nothing works here. I am honestly suprised I can even get onto s2ki. I guess i should have probally waited till i got home, but I was a little bored at work since it is a 14 hour day today and I have chunks of time to kill here inbetween projects. Sorry though I know how annoying it can be when somone does that. Thanks for the reply though. So the AFC NEO does all the vafc2 does plus more? Am I understanding that correctly. Thanks again and sorry for beating the topic more I guess.

yeah pretty much. the neo will do what the vafc does and slightly more.

Personally, though, i don't like either. you get good gains, but unless you like resetting your ecu every week, you're gonna lose a good portion of your tune.

No problem Hope you didn't think I was coming down on you hard, just wanted to point you in the direction of search as well

Google actually has a wicked site-specific search and it's decent! Go to Google, and use the string site:s2ki.com searchterm and it should work out for you.

In response to ^Hero^:

Can you not tune the VAFC's only for WOT anyway? My understanding that tuning at part throttle is the area that cause difficulty with the learning ECU. Hence why it's not a valid device for forced induction because turbos and S/Cs need more fuel at part-throttle as well as WOT. If we're talking about an N/A car here then WOT tuning is really the most important as that's when you'd be trying to squeeze out the power - when the pedal is on the floor.

Am I wrong?
