Default Value of replica mugen hardtop?

I'm considering a car that has one. I know I won't want it, and I'm wondering what I could sell it for. Also, there is no soft top at all with the car, does anyone know if replacing the complete soft top frame and fabric is a big deal? I found used frames with motors for $300-400, and new fabric is about $400. Is there anything else I'd need?

It depends on the manufacturer of the mugen rep. If it is RSG or VIS- the resale will be decent, if it is a Chaser or another garbage fitting HT- the resale will be low.
If you buy it, instead of selling the HT, why don't you see if any members in your area would like to do a trade for their softtop, frame, motors ect. Based on the condition of the softtop, you may still walk away with a couple hundred in your wallet.

Replacing the frame and soft top are fairly difficult, especially without any prior experience.

Yeah it really depends on the condition/fitment of the top. Is it carbon or fiberglass?

i would look for a complete frame/softop assy as opposed to buying a separate frame and softtop because it's supposedly a huge PITA to rivet the softop to the frame. From those prices you posted, you can get a full assy and have a much easier time installing it--although it's still a rough job.

I've heard of riveting a top taking up to 13 hours and that's with multiple people. (full installation) not just riveting from beginning to end. I'm sure if you add booze to the equation it will probably take longer though.
