Don't know. They both stick out too far IMO. Any pics of them 1/2" or even an inch pushed in?

They look like side steps

thank you everyone for your vote and opinion. at this point type R is the winner (80%) and I will be making couple sets from ABS and post pictures with min and max protrusion. Type R sticks out in front and back just enough to be flush with the tires (at max extension). They do appear larger in pictures since they were painted white and installed on a black car. I will have more pictures up before making the carbon fiber version as well.

Nice! Can't wait to see how it turns out. Hopefully you have them in the March timeframe when I will be ready to get some!

I like the Type R. Kinda reminds me of my RX7 side splitters. I'd probably be interested in a set if you made them in carbon.

Could I be bold enough as to suggest that you consider looking at HMWPE (High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene) as a material for both the front and side diffusers in 1/8" thick sheet. I thought that the 1/4" was a little on the bulky side, unecessarily. HMWPE is designed as a material to be very strong and impact resistant and would satisfy those who are looking for the lightness and strength (but not the lack of impact resistance) of CF. I went through this decision tree when designing my Rear Fender Liners and ultimately came to the conclusion that HMWPE was the way to go (they come in at 26oz per side!). At the very least you wouldn't have to concern yourself with creating a mold because you' re dealing with something which is basically flat (ie one plane). I think you might find it less expensive and more useful for your purposes and can be bought with a variety of finishes on the sheet. You could even get sheets cut to whatever special length you require to minimize the wastage in cutting. If you have access to a water jet cutter, with CAD drawings of the pieces this would be a piece of cake to produce. Just my $ 0.02. Like what I see, particularly the Type R which is a more subtle design and more in tune with the subtle lines of the S2000. Best of luck with the project - sounds like you are off to a good start.

Hi Romeo,
I like to personally thank you for your recommendation of using HMWPE instead of ABS for our current and future products. I don't know if I am alone on this, but I do not have much information about HMWPE. it seems to be a good alternative so far, however I need to do some more research and hopefully speak with you in near future in order to discuss it in more details. In addition, I will share that info with S2ki members on this thread and hopefully, not solely because it would be easier or cost less than ABS to make, but if it proves to be lighter and more durable than ABS, I will definitely switch to HMWPE in the future.
on the other hand, I am not sure if HMWPE would be a good choice to also replace our CF Composite chin splitters, since it utilizes high impact resistant and lightweight foam core combined with High grade carbon fiber fabric which only weighs 0.8lb (12.8oz)

Meanwhile, I like to thank you again for your recommendation and sharing your knowledge in order to make better and lighter products for the S2000 community. hope to talk to you soon.

Thanks
Bryan
