Hi
I am sure it might be a little difficult judging the price without seeing the actual part in person. pictures really do not do justice for this part. Price of the carbon fiber has not gone up however we did go to extreme measures to provide you the HIGHEST quality carbon fiber piece that not just looks great but will also last a lifetime. here is what we did:

Most cosmetic carbon fiber pieces in he market are made out of 3K carbon fiber and backed with fiberglass and cheap general purpose polyester resin and hand lay up. we chose to vacuum infuse our piece in order to achieve that compressed look which is not possible by hand lay up. in addition we use 2 layers of HIGH DENSITY 12K carbon fiber which is equivalent to 5 layers of 3K carbon fiber. Here is also a picture between regular (top) vs high density (bottom) carbon fiber and i am sure that picture is self explanatory.
We also opted to use ADTECH water clear UV resistant EPOXY to achieve perfect shine and to bring out the beautiful black color of carbon fiber. (most resins cure to an amber color) however we didn't stop there, final step is an additional layer of UV resistant Cylcoaliphatic epoxy coating which we hand pour on each piece to make our part very resistant to scratches and water marks. (we know some water or coffee might be spilled on it from time to time) in addition, the last layer of epoxy creates a doming effect around the edges which makes this part stand out from most cheap carbon fiber pieces on the market.

lastly, the $75 price includes shipping as well

Agree with everyone on the price being a bit too high for such a small piece
