Default what type of mods show the best performance.

i am new to this site and new to the s2000 in general. i have a lot of experience in b series motors and d series motors along with civics tegs and crxs. i have no idea what im going to be getting myself into when i buy my s2k in a few months. what im wondering is with the cylinder walls of the f20c being frm (fabric reinforced metal) like the h22, what is the best way to build this motor. i have issues with believing anyone telling me to just put 15 lbs of boost and ill have 300whp being the fact that the compression is so high in the first place and secondly i dont want to ruin my cylinder walls it may be easier to burn the walls and the rings with the high temps of a turbo. please anyone with experience help me out. i wanna get 300 to the wheels but safely and modestly i dont want a race car. i have one of those i just want a decently quick reliable daily driver. please if you can tell me about what you have or have seen personally. i do not believe anything on youtube or a friend of a friend of a friend, if you know what i mean. thanks in advance for your advice.

15 pounds of boost and 300hp ; that's not a correct statement. Also with high compression one can simple install a thicker head gasket in order to drop compression.

Get a greddy kit or a comptech supercharger and you will have a reliable 300whp. BTW our engines can handle just a little bit more than 300whp bone stock , check the vid.

ok i understand that a headspacer would lower compression, but isnt that a little unsafe? ive seen more than a few of those blow with just a simple over revving. and i also understand that these motors can hold quite a bit of power on the stock motor. but i am not very educated on these motors. i do know that with b series, the motors are very finicky. some stock blocks can take up to 25 lbs of boost and not blow(unbelievably!) but at the same time, a block almost exactly the same, example, same miles same type of driving same maintenance but will blow with only 8 lbs of boost. so i just wanna understand what would be a safe conservative amount of boost if the headspacer is as safe and relliable as the aforementioned posts.

Well if your an experienced driver you shouldn't over rev in the first place bc a headspacer is the least of your worries if you over rev in the s2000 your more likely to bend the valves and have to get a whole new head. And as far a reliable power is only gunna come from turbo or supercharger kits bc an S isnt going to put out to much more hp n/a w/o alot of time and money. CT Engineering has a S/C kit that is warrentied if you keep it at 8psi and will def get you around the 300hp range with a tune and is reliable.

if you want cheapest/safest, out of the box 300 hp, get vortech or CT (formerly known as comptech) superchargers or a greddy turbo

15lbs = 450 and up. Go into the forced induction section and scroll around in there you'll see countless people using stock motors with a 3mm headgasket.

I believe your referring to how shitty cometic made their gaskets for the bseries and all the B-series blowin em apart.

the safest gasket to get is the one made by inline pro for a turbo/supercharger application

300whp is easily gotten with a ct or vt sc kit. 9 lbs should get you like 320 or so with a sc kit I think. No need for a gasket or anything like that. Just make sure you get a good tune and your good to go. Clutch should be gotten with it as well.
