What would you recomend?
I just picked up a 2005 s2k. i love the car, but my only problem thus far is a complete lack of an engine/exhaust note. don't get me wrong the thing sounds nuts in vtec. i don't want the full out race exhaust sound or anything loud. i just want a more enjoyable sound for now. so what do recommend as a starting point? intake? test pipe? i doubt a catback or header. not looking to make to much noise.
do some research then go to a few local meets... hear & see what others have, instead of the trial by error method.
you gotta hear it in person... online sound clips will only give you an idea.
as for me - i have the tanabe medalion touring (one of the quietest exhausts available - but definitely not as quiet as OEM). i also have modified my OEM airbox am using a modified password intake.

thanks allot guys i was thinking of chopin up the oem intake box and getting a snorkel, but that doesn't get me too far on sound(at least i would think). i do have a warranty on the car so a snorkel would be less of a pain in the ass to take off when i take the car in for service. ive heard that the k&n cai sounds the best. i know that none of these are going to produce more than 1 or 2 hp so im not worried about that.
how much of a difference does a test pipe make in sound. i definitely don't want my s to sound like a civic with a fart can.

If you just want something a little louder but nothing that will catch too much attention, then deff. go with an intake. If you really want an exhaust, but want something fairly quiet, then check out the Apexi World Sport exhaust.
K&N FIPK I would recommend. Someone just did a dyno on it and picked up 5.5whp peak and 10 whp midrange. Sounds great. Not too expensive and actually works well. I love it.
Those gains on a dyno are very good for an intake. On the highway with more airflow will produce more power than on a dyno with a fan blowing no where near the air you get on the highway.

little revs on my oem exhaust amazes me how quiet the car is. i'd love to have a big high flow exhaust but i like being under the cops radar with stealth...
