Default whats the diff between AP1 and AP2 lights?

hey i saw some head and tail lights @ some websites for sale but it says its for the AP2 models.
and sinds i own an AP1 (year 2000)i started to wonder if they would also fit in my car.

so my question is: if u still buy those will they fit or not or does it need some cable modifications?

PS. its the LED tail lights and the angel eyes headlights i saw

thanks in advance.

Headlights are a direct fit and plug and play as long as you have the ap2 ballast and ignitors with them. If you want to use your ap2 ballast and such on the ap2 headlights you will have to trim the back of the headlights to get them to fit, and custom mount the ballast box. The taillights are not a direct fit, you will have to trim some metal out of the back of the car there to make them fit, then you will also have to modify your connectors, or get the ap2 harness with it to hook them up. I got the whole ap2 harness and soldered it in so all the connectors plug right in.

Edit: just looked at the links you posted, those are for the cheapo headlights and taillights. I woulndnt even bother, just do it right and get OEM if you want to change. I know you can get those headlights that directly fit your ap1, just look on ebay. I'm not sure about the tails but i'm pretty sure you will still have to cut, and I would never cut my S for some ricey looking cheap tails. I just did it to put my mint 08 tails and I love it.

I would not smoke the lights its looks bad and cheap. There are aftermarket lights but they are pretty chessy as well. Just keep them stock or go for the ap2 tails. p.S i did the conversion its not that hard.

Not trying to start problems but converting any car from its original state to aftermarket or in this case a ap1 to ap2 it's always gonna b difficult, it's probly just easier then other conversions
