Default Wheels and Tire Setup Will it work?

Hello, new to the group and glad to be a new member. I have a 2001 Honda S2000 on stock suspension with slight rear fender lip roll and stock front fenders. I am looking to buy wheels and tires and wondering if this setup will work without rubbing. Have been reading and cant seem to find the answer.
Looking to fit on the rear:
255/40-17 tire on a 17x9 +40 offset wheel
Looking to fit on the front:
235/40-17 tire on a 17x8 +45 offset wheel
Any information is greatly appreciated and Thanks in advance!

won't work. You need to roll the fronts. Depending on how well your rear is rolled, might still need some work - will also need to have the bumper tab relocated.

Rule of thumb - if you want to minimize fender modifications, keep the offsets above +55.

If you're willing to do standard flat roll with some very minor pulling (roller skill dependent), target offsets of +45 to +50.

Offsets of +40 start moving into the gray zone or needing lots of camber, stretched tires, additional fender work or a combination of all three.

Below +40 is not recommended unless you want to do lots of fender work or wide body.

Does 235/40/17 even exist for streetable tires? I assume you're looking for street tires.

If it does exist, its going to be noticably shorter than your 255/40/17 rears...so it might look a bit funny.

225/45/17 is the right diameter to pair with 255/40/17.

As mentioned above, this setup is going to require modifications. I have run 17x9+40 all around on both my S2000's.

I would use UPPER ball joints to add camber and pull in your front tires.

I guess you could do that to the back too, to minimize fender mods.

I ran 205 55 17 all around before on a 17x7+45 and they fit on the rear fine but had a slight rub on the front which wasn't that big of a deal but now I'd like to go with wider tire and wheel setup. Also they do make 235 40 17 in street tires.

17x7 +45 is massively different than 17x9 +45, that should never be ignored. I ran 17x7.5 +30 on my car and it fit totally fine up front (my fenders are quite rolled), while running my 17x10 +45 would take some effort to make fit.

So do you think I could just run 17x8 +45 all around if I rolled my front fenders slightly?

I would just buy wheels in men's sizes and roll the stupid fenders.

Or...buy wide wheels with high offsets and leave the fenders 100% stock.

I don't get the point of the in-between. Rolled fenders with conservative fitment?

That would be narrower than OEM rear wheel sizes for an AP2, which is a bad call imo. If you don't want to roll your stuff go with high offsets.

I have no experience with that. My most conservative setup was 17x9 +45 all around with 255.

The main reason I said about the 17x8 is the wheels I wanna get are the konig hypergrams and they are only available in a 17x8 +45 or a 17x9 +40 and I cant find any wheels similar with a different setup

For the wheels in the OP you will need a full roll front and rear and the rear tabs relocated.
