There are more people who like their 4.77's vs people who don't.

Oh I know that, I meant why won't OP go with 4.77's versus 4.57 etc. I'd prefer 4.77's, but it depends on what the car is used for, etc excessive highway driving could get irritating with 4.77's.

Wouldn't you want a longer gear for force induced cara?

You usually do. A lower hp boosted setup could benefit a little maybe. Especially a bolt on supercharger kit or something. Once you start making over 350whp it will definitely hurt you.

I actually just installed 4.44' into my AP1. It's FI with a base Comptech kit. So far it seems to compliment the supercharger nicely. For those not supercharged or familiar with it, it may be important to note that the boost increases linearly as the engine RPM increases. The system doesn't generate peak boost until redline and the torque curve is sort of flattened out. So, I think gears on a supercharged car makes sense and help give you that mechanical advantage down low. I can't say I'd do the same had I gone turbo.

btw - Puddy, thanks for straighting out my diff. Installed this weekend and it's smooth as butter. Tonight I'll do the last heat cycle.

Great news good luck with the rear...

The only 4.56/7 gears that I find to be any good is the Richmond brand gears. These gears are not in production anymore
