window tint
Im going to get my windows tinted on monday and was just looking for some advice on good percentages on a three windowed roadster with a all black interior.
Questions: What aboat the front windscreen strip? Is that unheard of on an S2k because you definely dont see a hole lot people sporting it. I like the look but not
it compromises to much visibility. I live in Missouri so 35% is legal and there not always nazis here but if they want to or you give them a reason they ll
pull you over for it. Feedback on favored tint percentages and pros an cons of the front windscreen strip??

I have 20% it's pretty damn dark with the black interior
35 would be GREAT let's you see much better at night and in the rain. Plus it will still look nice and dark with the full black interior.
If I had to do it again I would go 35%

Interesting look what I found on page 2 of the Modifications and Parts thread, after 10+ years everything has been covered

Edit: Also to the OP I have 5% on sides and windscreen and (2) sheets of 5% stacked on my softtop glass. When I got pulled over the cop told me it was actually 3%. The darker you go the harder it is to see at night.

Nice well im debating on 20% or 35% or somewhere in between if thats possible. What about the windscreen strip? Its hard to tell from pictures whether thats a fairly common thing to do or not. I dont want to do and then have regrets because the windscreen already so small. As long as other people with strips say its not really a burden in any way then hell ya but its just hard to tell from pictures.
I know someone with (berlina black ap1) 4% on all three windows and 20% on the whole windshield.. It looks like someone painted his windows black, its ridiculously dark inside the car even during the daytime.. At night it's hard to see down any streets that are dark, not to mention you can't see in the car at all from the outside..
I have 35% all around and nothing on the windshield.. I love it, but I think imma go 20% next time..
As for the windshield strip, I think it looks silly because the windshield is so small..

You're also going to want to check with your state laws and see what the requirements are. I live in Ohio, and had 3% on my windows, none on my windshield.
Got pulled over and the cops actually scanned my windows to see how much light passed through/grade of tint I had. Apparently the law is 50% on all driver and passenger windows, as dark as you want in the rear windows in Ohio.
Long story short - do it once the right way.
