Default Wobbly shifter

I did a clutch change on my AP1 today. After i assembled my shifter, i noticed that it was very wobbly. I can shift gears just fine and it doesnt pop out of gear or anything, but while its in gear I can move it all over the place. First time assembling my shifter into my tranny. Anyone had the same experience or know whats up?

Wobbly shifter? Have you tried Viagara or levitra?

Couldn't resist with that thread title.

I've never had that problem, but are you sure you tightened the bolts that hold it in, did you grease it? I haven't looked at my shifter in a while, but isn't there a plastic piece in there that if it fell off it would leave the symptoms you describe?

Haha, well played sir.

There is a white ring that surrounds the shifter housing, but it doesnt do anything to stabilize the shifter. And i mean its REALLY wobbly. Im just thankful i can get it into gear(s)

Are all 3 bolts holding the shifter assembly in place fully tightened down?

Sounds like a symptom of this. Plastic ball cap may be missing on the bottom end.

Also just FYI if someone else is searching wobbling shifter symptoms while accelerating or decelerating. That would be your tranny mounts. I changed mine and all load induced wobbling was eliminated.
