ap2 header..?
for the ap2 2006 model...wich header between:T1R,Spoon,Mugen,J'S,Toda...i have read the header treath...now i wanna see some opinions...i wanna mount one of these with an single exaust,TP or HFC....if somebody could give some relistik numbers and advice i apreciate...N/A buid ...thanks alot

The J's is the best header for a built motor (lots of other mods first). The Toda, Mugen and Tracy Sports are better for the in between stages. I would get a Toda or Tracy Sports for what you are doing.
So I'm interested in getting a good conversation going on about how well these compliment a lightly modified car.
The primaries on the J's Racing header are probably too big. They really favor the top end. Peak torque is achieved at about 250 ft-sec of velocity in the exhaust and a larger primary reduces velocity. You can see this in some graphs where the J's really seems to take another 500+ RPMs to get going compared to the Toda on an AP2. The Hytech header uses a very small primary (in the 44mm range) and makes great power. Now if you increase the motor's ability to flow air, either through ITBs, stroking, or compression you can use a bigger primary. Still though 50mm may be pushing it. This motor really likes higher velocity over size.
At the same time not everything is equal from one header to another. Even though the piping is little too big it seems like the J's has done a lot of other things right because it does make pretty good power. I have heard from exhaust designers that they like it because it has very long primaries and secondaries but so do a lot of other headers and the Tracy Sports actually has very short primaries and secondaries and makes good power although it has been tested less.
My own observation is that the J's is very straight and doesn't have a lot of unnecessary bends -- this seems like an advantage.
End of the day I think Toda (or ASM) and J's are both safe bets. The Tracy Sports seems to work good on stock cars from two dynos I have seen.
