i tried that many times. first time without me knowing there wasn't any thermostat in the car. i was getting a bit of heat into the cabin. then when i realized that the car was running way too cold. i put in the thermostat. and as i said above, it just overflows the funnel and then overheats.
i even tried the little nipple near both heater hoses on the block, and also jacking the front of the car up to the sky, with the firewall method.

The firewall is what worked for me when I had my Jenvey ITBs which ran into the same issues. If you really need the coolant bleed port, perhaps you should reach out to a fabricator, maybe they can fab up a bleed port for you.
im not too worried about the port, as some kits dont have it as well. i have a feeling something else is going on. unless im getting massive amounts of air when i have the thermostat in place.
I had the same problem with my hondata gasket. It takes a while to bleed but not that big of a deal. Open the firewall bleeder and leave the rad cap off and let it burp. If your car gets hot, turn it off. It will take a long time but its not difficult.

You could drill and tap a hole for a 1/16 NPT plug ( like a fat taper grub screw) and remove that to bleed from that point.
If there is enough room, drill/tap a 1/8 NPT hole and use one of these.
