fuel pump and injectors
Hi All
I am thinking about installing and mapping in a fuel pump and larger injectors, car will have hks manifold, miltek exhaust k&n typoon kit.
long term ill be supercharging.
i was thinking maybe a 340 pump and 1000cc injectors??? these are recomemded for a larger supercharger set up though so would like people thoughts....

You can't run new injectors without some sort of engine managment. What is your HP goal when you are supercharged? A 340 lph pump is pretty large, maybe overkill. I'm running the normal 255 drop in replacement and ID1000s. I'd have plenty of room for 400 hp on E85 if I needed.
Id like a reliable 400bhp if boosted and TTS performance (UK) can do this with the charger kit they have available. with 1000 injectors and 340 pump. (they offer a 400+bhp kit smaller pump 255 iirc and less flow injectors iirc.. smaller charger .and 500+bhp with the 340 pump and 1000 injectors larger charger)
my question is can you have have the fuel pump and injectors naturally aspirated and mapped in (flash pro or equivalent) with supporting breathing mods such as my full exhaust, manifold, k&n..... if you can what kind of figures are you getting??
The pump and injectors are part of the 500bhp kit and so i was wondering can these be added in naturally aspirated until the rest of the charger kit is added and obviiusly mapped in.... or are they over kill.... if so what pump and injectors naturally aspirated are recomended and what arw the associated gains, boosted and n/a?
suprised injectors and fuel pump isnt included in n/a frequently asked questions.... every days a school day

Sure you can have injectors and fuel pump running NA as long as you have some sort of tuning device. Of course it will be way overkill for NA, but it isn't going to hurt anything (if properly tuned). You really don't need much more fuel for just breathing mods. You could get around it with an adjustable FPR, but since you are going Supercharged go ahead and do it right.
I'd have no problem putting in the 1000cc injectors. Gives you lots of room and typically they aren't that hard to tune as long as you get a good brand. The fuel pump on the other hand is something that I don't have a lot of experience with. I've got the drop in replacement 255 lph in mine. It was almost a direct replace. I think I had to modify a hose. I'm not sure if the 340 lph pump is. I'm not familiar with it since my end result will only be about 400 hp.
In all honesty if it is what the company recommends with their kit, go ahead and take care of it. If you have a stand alone tuning won't be a problem and they would work NA. While you are at it, buy another stock fuel rail, drill and tap it, then put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Never hurts to know. I can take a picture of mine if you want to see what it looks like.
